Renaissance Man

I designed this for an editorial project, where we were asked to create a two-page magazine spread that would serve as the intro to an article..

The concept behind the article is that nowadays people are expected to possess a level of expertise in so many different areas—similar to the definition of a so called “renaissance man”—and how that term is somewhat ironic, since during the Renaissance, most people had very specific specializations.

To represent this concept, I chose to manipulate an image of a marble statue, like many that were carved during the Renaissance era, onto the face of a man, almost as if it was an ex-ray.
